Dr. Ada S. Cooper Dentist
A native of New York, New York, Dr. Ada Cooper is both an accomplished dentist, a respected lawyer—and a dental consumer advisor who is dedicated to providing invaluable dental knowledge to the public at large.
Dr. Cooper earned her B.A. degree cum laude in political science at Amherst College. She was awarded the John Woodruff Simpson Fellowship in Law to attend Harvard Law School where she obtained her J.D. degree, and went on to become a partner at the law firm Jenner and Block. After many years in the legal profession, Dr. Cooper returned to school to study dentistry, completing her D.D.S. degree at New York University College of Dentistry. Not long after graduation, she was selected to be a national spokesperson and consumer advisor for the American Dental Association.
Dr. Cooper has made appearances on The Dr. Oz Show, CNN, NBC’s Today show, and NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams. She has also been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Women’s Health magazine, and innumerable other print and digital media outlets.
Dr. Cooper is an associate fellow of the New York Academy of Dentistry, a fellow of the International College of Dentists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dentists and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard International Honors Dental Society. She serves as the Treasurer of the New York County Dental Society and on various boards and committees of the New York County Dental Society including the Board of Trustees, the Finance Committee, the Membership Committee, Peer Review Committee, and the Nominating Committee. Her dental society memberships also include the American Dental Association, and the New York State Dental Association, where she servces as a delegate.
She has served as a member of the NIDCR “PEARL” Protocol Review Committee and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Boys Club of New York. Dr. Cooper has received many awards and honors, including the American College of Dentists’ “Outstanding Achievement Award” and the New York University “Key Pin Award for Outstanding Achievement.” She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.
